My story…

My own lived experience with my gambling addict father shaped my own money story. My dad was a terrible gambler, by the time I had turned 10 he had successfully gambled away our family home. As a family, we were left homeless and penniless. My childhood was robbed and most weekends I spent going from betting shop to betting shop and living in fear and shame around money, dealing with the threat of bailiffs and going to school hungry most days.

My early twenties seen me spiral into debt as I was never parented to be taught about money. I amassed thousands of debt and lived a life way beyond my means by taking out credit cars, car finance and loans. I was never educated on the consequences of taking on debt and had zero financial literacy.

Now, I have broken that that cycle and am debt free and living a life on my money terms.

I’m a mother and renowned Financial Education and Wellbeing Expert teaching globally everything there is to know about how money works.

As both a professional and someone with lived experience, I offer insights that textbooks alone can't provide.

My work challenges the stereotype of gambling as a 'man's problem', highlighting its impact on women and families.

By sharing my story, I encourage others to break the silence surrounding family gambling harm, promoting earlier intervention and support.
